Born in 1970, I grew up in France in a home that encouraged manual labor. The interest for raw materials came very naturally and was accompanied by an urge for crafts and art.
After immigrating to Israel (1989), I graduated in physical therapy (1994) and am a therapist to this day. My profession is a total vocation and holds a big role in my inspiration.
I started sculpting in 2016 as a way to wean myself...partially... from extreme sports, but it soon became obvious i had found much more : i found my way.
Being offered a welder as a birthday present, Steel became my favorite material. After a short training, I decided that I wanted to experiment and learn by myself, developing my own language and tools. Using my knowledge in Anatomy i would build a skeleton (usually from scrap metal) and cover it with welding. The weld, in fact metal in fusion, pours out like lava from a volcano, creating texture and rhythm. Although Sisyphean, this method produces a unique thrill, and addiction! And the result, well... it holds endless sensuality and invitation to touch! Which is all so natural to me.
